Coding is a course designed for students aged between 13 and 16 years old who wish to develop their ability to code websites, databases, and games. In an increasingly technological world, understanding and developing digital language is a key part of every business’s marketing plan. Along with being a platform for web development Coding is also the foundation of the gaming industry – an industry which is now larger than the movie and music industries combined. The course will also help all students develop their English language, communication and collaboration skills.
What You’ll Learn
How You’ll Learn: Time to Shine
Each week for SBC Coding students will work together to participate in a research and presentation project. They will all have the opportunity to give presentations based on their own research, and participate in fun and collaborative class competitions.
What You’ll Take Away
By studying in a student-centred environment, and through a focus on developing 21st century skills, our Headington Oxford students can return home with an introductory understanding of the basics of coding in a variety of programming languages, better confidence in their communication and presentation skills and with greater motivation to apply these skills to their future learning.
